The United States, just like other countries, has its own rules of withholding taxes that must be deducted from the wages or any other type of remuneration at the time it is paid out to a nonresident. This often leads to overpaying or underpaying taxes. Year-end tax filing repairs the discrepancies and takes many personal and financial factors in consideration to make the final judgment about tax.

Thousands of pages of the Internal Revenue Code, Regulations, Federal Tax Cases, IRS Rulings and Releases and Tax Treaties turn taxation of foreign nationals into a science with a large number of variables.

Based in the Washington DC area, LBF's team of tax professionals is always updated with latest developments in U.S. taxation as well as IRS procedures to ensure not only largest and most efficient refunds for their international clients but also competent and accurate work. In the upcoming months, LBF will introduce a comprehensive online tax filing platform for international students, teachers and trainees that will represent state-of-the art technology in combination with knowledgeable tax professionals available for taxpayers who need assistance.

Here is how it works:

Step 1. Fill out the LBF Questionnaire to help us determine your tax status in the U.S.

Step 2. Collect the source documents. See our List of Supporting Documents

Step 3. Refer to our tax organizers to classify your expenses. The LBF Tax Organizer is helpful for detailed analysis of tax deductions. We recommend using the short version for those with fewer deductible expenses.

Step 4. Submit the LBF Questionnaire, one of the two tax organizers (whichever applies, see above) with copies of your source documents by email at customerservice@lbftax.com or mail it to us at LBF International Tax LLC, Dept 8138, PO Box 1010, Washington Grove, MD 20880.

Step 5. Our representative will contact you to advise about the payment details as well as require additional information if necessary.

Step 6. After the tax return is completed, it will be mailed out with the detailed instructions to the address indicated on the LBF Questionnaire.

Fees

The fees for the tax preparation are fixed and do not depend on the size of your refund or amount of tax you have to pay. The fee amount is calculated based on the type of your tax return and indicated on the bottom of LBF Questionnaire.
